[At first, she's quiet for a little while. She opens her mouth as if she knew what to say before but now that the camera's rolling, she's second-guessing it. And so there's a pause before she starts talking.]

Matthew's gone.

[... and she looks a little confused, as if she never expected to say those words. They sound so foreign.]

... sheesh. Can he ever leave without causing me problems?

Well, now you know.

[A bit of a shrug and she ends the feed.]

But well, I think it's really simple to be a hero. And no one can ever really tell you whether or not you're doing a good job either.

To be a succesful hero or... anything, really... I think all it takes is a genuine desire to help people. If you have that in mind, then you'll be accomplished in anything and everything.

[He nods... looks at her for a moment, accepting of the answer. It seems so rudimentary. It's something he's always innately wanted to do, something he's always just done automatically.]

How about you tell Phil that. Then maybe he'll cut me some slack.

A lot of people are heroes and don't even know it. Kinda like my old roommate Danny. He really helped me out of a tight spot.

[He takes another lick at his ice cream.] He left too, you know.

[And at the mention of someone leaving, she falters for a moment. She'd forgotten again. It was so easy to forget that he wasn't around anymore when she was with someone else.]

... hmph. Well, lucky them for getting out of here. I'm sure they're happy, if nothing else.

[She laughs.] I've heard more than enough times about things that people need to do once they get home and people they miss... Thinking that they're back with them now? Guess it makes dealing with it easier.

I don't like people coming back after they leave. It seems very lazy and weak-willed. If he's out of my life now, I want him to stay out. It's easier for the both of us that way.
