Quick word of advice: be careful! No, I mean it. I don't want to hear any of that tough guy [her voice drops an octave as she imitates some gruff bravado] 'I've got it covered' or something silly like 'You're overreacting!' [she snickers] Better safe than sorry, ladies and gents.

Oh! But that's not what I wanted to take care of here. I thought it'd be about time I took care of this so... [A soft mew comes from somewhere offscreen and Saya laughs. Then standing up from the couch and when she sits back down, she has this cutie in her lap.] Say hi!

[Saya seems to be amused as she gently takes one of the kitten's paws in hand and waves towards the camera of the SFC.]

Motz, Vatheon. Vatheon, meet [INHALE] Matthew Obi Train Zen. Or Motz for short! Don't let the names fool you, she's much better behaved than any of them.

[Sticking her tongue out playfully- obviously directed at the aforementioned dudes. Snickering a bit, she seems quite content.]

So if you drop by the apartment, don't be surprised to see her. Or maybe come by with the intention of seeing her- she's a good girl, promise! Though I'm not about to say no to any help taking care of her, either. Shirayuki's got my back, but I've never had a pet before... [A thoughtful pause and tilt of her head, was there anything else...]

Hm, I guess I should wrap this up now. [Sobering up a bit, she smiles again.] Everyone, make sure you take care. I could name a few people that I'm especially concerned about, but... you know who you are. Call me if any problems arise. See you all later.

[a salute and the feed ends with a click!]

[OOC: For [livejournal.com profile] redcloakedthief [livejournal.com profile] countrybeloved [livejournal.com profile] ninjaservant [livejournal.com profile] sweepered, feel free to tag in with action! But know that when you do, Saya and Shirayuki will tag you back seperately. o/]

Nope, but that tactic's a great way to sneak a discount out of a gullible informant.

[She sticks her tongue out playfully before sobering up some.]

Well, I don't know if you've noticed, Matthew, but you get too carried away sometimes. I know because that's how I am too. [She laughs.] When you get an idea in your head and decide it's worth it, you tend to go for it. The incident with the bomb which I still assume you had something to do with, the church infiltration...

[A final unspoken one would also have to be his bias against assassins. : T]

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
...Heh. I don't know why I'm surprised anymore.

[...he frowns slightly.]

Yes, I know. There's...a very fine line between doing what is necessary for success and overdoing something, isn't there? Leila...

...Well, I suppose she crossed it. Or perhaps she just slipped up. I'm not sure.

[...]

But you're right, then. She...was.

[She was good for him. And he loved her for it, amongst everything else.]

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
[... he's so cute, awwwwww. She seems a bit amused- which she's allowed to be, as someone who died too.]

Everyone slips up. We just did it at the worst possible moment. [a shrug] I'm sure she lived life to the very fullest, Matthew. And if you don't think so, accomplish everything she didn't so she can be proud of you.

[Despite the heavy air, she smiles. Not entirely sure how the love thing works out, but personally? She hates seeing Matthew upset or sad. She's sure that Leila agrees.

So she picks up Motz again and offers her to him.]

I think you need a kitten hug.

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
I know. I--

[SUDDEN KITTEN.

...He accepts the kitten, holding her gently, smiling slightly, and more gently than usual. It is almost a cuddle but shhh he won't admit it]

You're right. I...promised her, and I accomplished what I promised. Hopefully...she is proud.

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Reclining on the couch and looking up with a grin plastered on her face.]

I promise you're on the right track.

If you turn out even half as well as Train did... [Two fingers go up as her bottom lip scrunches up in thought, considering her words before she finally blurts them out.] You'll never have to worry about disappointing anyone.

Or at least, that's what I think.

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
[...He pets Motz silently, absorbing that. And then he grins.]

Well. I doubt I'll ever be a world-class sweeper. But I have no regrets about what I am.

[He clasps his hands, the kitten peering out from the space created be his arms.]

...There's trouble on the horizon, even after this war amongst the dragons. If I can serve milord through it...then I know Leila will be proud.

[PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF]

Sweeper shmeeper! You'd pick the pockets of the poor criminals after you knocked 'em out!

[SHE KNOWS YOU-]

[2/2]

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
[.... o-oh right this is a serious talk. She simmers down a bit and laughs.]

Go for it! I mean, I know you are already, what with you being so good at going for what you've decided on and all... but you'll be just fine.

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Hahaha, ah, he is amused now too.]

I know.

And it would be their fault for being criminals and being knocked out, you know. That is an invitation to take their things.

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Hardly! The reward money should be enough, you can at least leave them with their possessions and fragments of their pride.

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
That depends on how you look at it. You might just be leaving them with their resentment.

That would be rather dangerous, wouldn't you say?

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
A little, but they're bound to resent you anyway if you turn them in. They might like you even less if they found out that you took their stuff. It's just plain mean.

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. I suppose. I forgot how loud of a job being a sweeper is.

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Pfft.]

Says the guy who had the city in an uproar after he broke into the church.

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
People can talk about whatever they'd like to talk about, so long as they aren't talking about me.

I messed up there, not thinking that these fairies might be watching us. I assure you that normally they don't know that it's me who was snooping.

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Mm-hmm. We'll see again when the fairies disappear, won't we?

[signing off his stupidity-]

Spy work sounds like such a hassle.

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
We will. I have faith in my abilities; don't you?

[He chuckles.]

"Spy work" is such a vague term. I suppose when put that way, it would be a hassle.

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Enough.

[She shrugs. Watch her fret that day anyway-]

... yeah in general, it sounds like it. Always have to double-check things! Be careful, consider all possible outcomes, pick through information, lie a lot...

[Bleh.]

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
[...]

Sounds as though you're describing infiltration work. Which can be tedious, I'll give you that; pretending to be someone you aren't will never be easy. Field work was always much easier, however. Though I never had much of a taste for decoding; that was nothing but paperwork.

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Paperwork is the most horrifying thing in existence, second only to boredom.

[FACT.]

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed.

[Amuuused.]

It sounds as though that is a constant, across worlds and across jobs.

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Well, no duh! Who would ever be satisfied with that kind of life? It's too... simple.

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. It certainly is lacking in action. It's better left to the mages and such. They seem to enjoy it well enough, from what I can tell.

[identity profile] sweeperesque.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Ahh, bookworms. They're great for learning about other things in large amounts, considering how much they ramble.

[identity profile] redcloakedthief.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
[He can't help it. He laughs.]

Imagine a group of them all together.

I quickly learned which groups were not worth eavesdropping on in our army.
